All about me!




Hi my name is Macy Barnard I am a Freshman here at Penn State Abington. I recently graduated from Neshaminy High School and I live in the bucks county area. I grew up in the Bristol Township area and then my family and I moved to where I currently live about 7 years ago. In high school I was a cheerleader and I also played lacrosse. Cheering for our football team, placing in the top 10 ou first year in states and winning first place in nationals were some of my favorite parts in high school. Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed of graduating from Penn State so to be starting my journey at Abington and fulfilling that dream makes me very excited to do my final two years of college at University Park! I am looking forward to meeting new people and getting to know everyone here at school.

PB1A: How we define ourselves through social media (twitter)

In today's world, there are many forms of social media. There is Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat etc. But one form of social media I want to focus on is Twitter. Twitter was one of the first forms of social media that I heard about growing up and a lot of people had a twitter. When I first heard about twitter from my understanding it was a way for celebrities to connect with their fans by letting them know what they were doing by tweeting out updates. As we got older, people in my grade and my friends starting making twitters and telling others to follow theirs. Its seems to be that people nowadays care more about how many retweets they have more than they care about things that are actually important.
